Nov2020PAD day 22 - bird poem

Resplendent Quetzal

A walk in the forest to search.
A sound distracts me from my lurch.
A melody so deep and smooth
This does strike my soul with the truth.

Now distracted from what I seek.
Beauty found to be very sleek.
Glorified in its majesty
With feathers worn so gallantry.

Green feather's symbol of spring growth,
with goodness and light will come both.
Ancient blood soaks a crimson chest.
A Mayan prince makes this bird the best.
